10 Tips for Making More Sales on Vinted

Selling on Vinted can be a brilliant way to declutter your wardrobe and make some extra money, but there are a few things that can really help your items stand out and actually sell. Whether you’re a seasoned seller or just getting started, here are 10 tips to help you make more sales on Vinted:

1. Price a couple of pounds more than you actually want: If you want £10 for an item, list it for £13. This gives buyers room to make an offer and feel like they’re getting a deal, while you still get the price you’re happy with.

2. Take the time to write accurate descriptions: Quick listings are tempting, but vague descriptions lead to questions and delays. Note if an item is oversized, whether it’s from a smoke or pet-free home, how many times you wore it (if it isn't many), and any imperfections. For dresses, give the length. The more info upfront, the smoother the sale.

3. Use multiple photos: Front, back, angles, labels, the more photos, the better. Photograph any flaws clearly too. It builds trust and helps avoid disputes later.

4. Don’t just decline lowball offers: It’s easy to feel offended by a cheeky offer, but rather than declining outright, send a counter-offer that works for you. You never know, they might say yes!

5. Be prepared to post: Save your jiffy bags, tissue paper, and Amazon boxes so you’re always ready to send items. Reusing packaging is eco-friendly and saves money, win-win.

6. Stay active and responsive: Vinted’s algorithm rewards sellers who upload regularly and reply quickly. Answering questions fast not only improves your visibility, but also gives potential buyers confidence.

7. Only use couriers that are convenient for you: Check where your closest drop-off points are and turn off courier options that require a long drive. If you don’t have a Yodel nearby, switch it off, your time is worth more than a £5 sale.

8. Take photos in good lighting and prep your items: Daylight is your best friend. Avoid harsh indoor lighting, and always steam or iron your clothes before taking photos. Creased, dark photos scream “can’t be bothered”, and buyers pick up on that.

9. Refresh your listings regularly: If something hasn’t sold in a couple of weeks, update the title, adjust the price slightly, or retake the photos. A refreshed listing often catches new eyes and boosts visibility in search results.

10. Bundle items to encourage bigger sales: Offer discounts for bundles and mention it in your bio or item descriptions. Buyers love a deal, and if someone’s already interested in one item, they might grab another if there’s an incentive.
